Making for Change Training Programme

Between 2019 and 2023 London College of Fashion, UAL worked in partnership with Newham College to deliver three annual Level 1 & 2 Fashion Production training programmes in its professional manufacturing unit, ‘Making for Change’ at Poplar Works. This training provided learners with an understanding and knowledge of garment construction techniques used in the industry to build confidence, skills and professional experience.

Learners were enrolled as Newham College students and had access to all the support and resources that helped participants reach their full potential.

Students were supported by Making for Change to improve their skills through professional development and work experience opportunities, and some graduates are now working in the Making for Change production team.

The training programme will not be running during the 2023-24 academic year, while we focus on other projects. Please check back here for information on future programmes, or contact Jess at j.tierney@fashion.arts.ac.uk if you have any questions.
